Can I come in now?

The last day of this years inktober finds me back where I started the month, down by the river at The Hepworth Wakefield.

And now what am I to do. Do I carry on drawing outside?

Hi John. Really enjoyed your inktober drawings. Thanks so much for sharing! I was just wondering what kind of notebook you were using? The ink that comes with my parallel pen tends to bleed quite a bit on the paper I use. -mischa

Hi Mischa, I use and can recommend Seawhite of Brighton sketchbooks.

After a long search for a sketch book that takes ink well I ended up using Seawhite. I've used various brands of Indian, Acrylic and fountain pen Ink over the years and they all work as you would expect. The pages are 'sized' and 140gsm and will even tolerate light watercolour work.

For inktober I used an A5 casebound sketchbook. I refilled my Parallel Pen daily with Platinum Carbon ink using a syringe. Pilot do a cartridge convertor for the pen which makes it a lot easier to refill.

Hope that helps.

Thanks John. I will give the notebook a try. Refills via syringe sounds like a good idea, too. -mischa
