Early September Spiders
Helen called me into the bathroom late last night to have a look at our latest visitor. I used to have no problem picking up big hairy spiders but the last few years I dread having to handle their spindly bodies to evict them into the cool night air outside. Like feathers stroking the inside of a wrist their hairy scrabbling legs trigger nerves in my neck, evicting the spider becomes a complete body experience, one I don't really need before bed.

BIG CAT BRITAIN
In the news this bank holiday weekend is the appearance of a lion in Essex. Great stuff which goes into reinforcing the myth of large beasts roaming Britain. As suddenly as it was being taken seriously by armed police it was dismissed as a case of mistaken identity, probably a domestic cat out on it's rounds. I did some big cat 'mistaking' of my own and did a drawing of our cat Jack, not so much 'big' but more of a large baggy belly type feline.
