I am a big fan of the landscape format and wanted to include some of that sideways scrolling scrumptiousness on my website. After all these years of going up and down it feels better to be going sideways, although that may have been the conditioning of reading comics all these years. I must admit I haven't thought about people with dial up connections, so be warned, it's a bit heavy on the download side.

Drawing Board...
Recently I have been working on an image for a client, involving the meeting of two great men. One is an old, visionary Doctor and the other a young, wealthy Baron from France. The above photo shows the repetitive nature of my work, drawing and redrawing tiny details in different media, (pen pencil, crayon). The pages here on my light table are a small sample from the 30 or so sheets of A4 paper I ended up with, and this doesn't include the background.
This is part of the final drawing that I went with and takes into account suggestions made by the client. This drawing was scanned into my laptop computer and then coloured digital art produced from it.

Coal Yard, 10:15 am...
After seeing myself in my phone camera lens from yesterday, I decide to get rid of the face fur I have been cultivating for the past ten days and trim my 'luxurious' dark hair back to a more manageable state. Here I am staggering blinky eyed into quite a nice Wednesday morning complete with blue skies and birds twittering on in the garden.

Johnny Town Mouse

My first trip into London in quiet some time. I was lured into town to meet Skoggin's Skull author Ben Haggarty and some of the nice people who work for The DFC, including David Fickling himself, (the clue is in the comic's title). As you can see from the terrible photos, I managed to get some sight seeing in first.
Terrible photos, except for this one maybe. I like the contrast of the gold and the brooding sky. There was a time when I would stop and draw this, but of late, life does seem too busy to get my sketchbook out. Am I just ticking off boxes, seen that, done this, move on. Will I forget these moments and let Blogger remember them for me without drawing them?

Happy New Year...
Spent the day travelling back to Wakefield from Kilwinning in Scotland , where we spent New Year with my Aunties, Uncles and Cousins from my Dads side of the family. To pass time in the car as Dad did the driving, I investigated the panorama feature on my mobile phone...
