My exhibition is in its last days. Jez and Pete came up to see it and afterwards I escorted them around Wakefield town centre for a bit of 'refreshment'. Had a lovely time and was inspired by the amount of interest that they took in the work. This is what I've needed, people other than myself, to talk to about what I've done in a critically positive type of way. Jez talked eloquently about the positioning of images as they draw and distance the viewer into the story. It was something that I did not consciously try to achieve but after nearly three decades of reading comics (good and bad) something must have stuck with me regarding narrative.
I walked home after saying goodbye to them at the train station, with Arcade Fire on my mp3 player and rainbows in the sky, life felt good.
Something I've need
ed of late.
